The
Victoria and Albert Museum
1. The Victoria and Albert Museum was founded with the aim of improving design in British
manufacturing, but over the years it has expanded to include things from almost every
place and period, including customer from the theatre, and paintings.Originally called the
Kensington Museum, it was established to house the contents of the Great Exhibition of
1851 (housed in the Crystal Palace erected in Hyde Park). Today the museum displays
cultural artefacts from around the world (particularly from the Orient).

Natural History Museum
1. From Dinosaurs to Dodos; the kids' favourite. The Natural History Museum has exhibits
birds, animals and reptiles as well as life-size reconstructions of prehistoric animals.

The British Museum
1. The initial collection was bequeathed by the original Sloane Ranger, Sir Hans Sloane, a
wealthy Chelsea doctor in 1753. It became a magnet for all the loot being amassed by the
British Empire through the 19th century. In the 1880s the natural history collections were
transferred to South Kensington. It still houses the British Library where Marx plotted
capitalism's downfall (Although this will soon transfer to St.Pancras).
